For educators in the field of mass communication, the changes in the academic landscape are tedious and complex. There are at least two major challenges media educators are constantly faced with: the convergence of communication technologies and the debate over balancing practical with the theoretical approaches to teaching within the field. These issues have forced educators to re-evaluate their programs and make constant adjustments to the curriculum. This panel will deal with the hot topics in mass communication education and will provide a foundation for how we can set new standards in the field of mass communication education. |
